2 Little Spring Flowers

2 Little Spring Flowers

These 2 little Spring Flowers were found in the Garden area. Yesterday I moved them to Wildflower Garden #1 and put them in an area that had not sprouted. A wonderful bonus was that I also moved a worm, lol. I hope he / she likes its new home. I'll be moving more things in as I see them sprout. It's best to have Wildflowers that grow naturally in your area, rather than trying to grow something you don't know.

By the way, the fence around the Veggie Patch is STILL not done, lol.

Over these next 2 days we have high wind warnings so not much is going to get done. They are calling for sustained winds of 25 - 35 mph with gusts over 50 mph. We are praying for rain. It seems strange to me that just 2 States away they are dealing with flooding while we are dealing with drought and high wind (fire danger). I wish there was a way they could send some of their water this way.

  1. It makes sense to plant things that are hardy enough to grow in your area! Good idea to use the wildflowers that are adapted to the altitude and rocky conditions!

It is too bad that there isn't some way to move the weather around a bit!

I'm pretty sure the worm was elated with his and her new home! (Worms are both!) LOL

What are you trying to keep out of the vegetable patch? We have SO many deer here - too many really. Now, having said that, this is where the deer used to live - BUT people down the hill are feeding them (Lots of people down the hill are feeding them!) and so the population is artificially boosted and deer that would not normally survive are. This also boosts the coyote population - which is somewhat more problematic.

I wonder if the people who are feeding the deer realize that they are indirectly feeding the coyotes? (Probably not!)

Am enjoying your garden. I will be out (when it stops raining here!) to take pictures of things with new leaves and small flowers. I am very excited by the number of things that have survived the winter!!

  2. After taking the video this morning (featured on the next post) I realized I have a lot more to keep out than just deer. The Squirrels, Wild Turkeys and Rabbits are going to be a problem too.

Jane, you should start a garden blog too :-)
